1987 · Two worlds collide

THE ALBUM.
THE FILM.
THE CONNECTION.

Back for the Attack

Released in 1987 on Elektra, Dokken’s album brought together “Kiss of Death,” “Burning Like a Flame” and “Dream Warriors.” It reached No. 13 on the Billboard album chart—the band’s highest album peak.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3

The 1987 film Dream Warriors took Freddy Krueger’s nightmare world into a story about young people confronting him together through their dreams.

The song that connected them

Dokken released “Dream Warriors” as the film’s theme song in February 1987. Later that year, it appeared on Back for the Attack—linking the record and the movie in one unmistakable title.
